PATTERN.
Materials:
- Any cotton 100% Weight/Yardage 50g/137yds: Cascade Ultra Pima Fine, 100% cotton or Schachenmayr Catania, etc. 1 ball of red color and 1 ball of the white color, small amount of black color. And a small amount of Patons UK 100% Cotton 4 Ply Yarn white color to make beard and mustache.
- Size D/3 (3 mm) crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Single core copper electrical wire for a frame – I used 90 cm (36 inches) of wire 1 mm in diameter for the frame of the body, adhesive plaster for machining the edges of wire.
- Cutting pliers: especially useful for cutting the electric wire to the desired length, flat-nose pliers: not mandatory but very useful for bending the ends.
- Scissors
- Stuffing.

Instructions.
The doll consists of 3 Santa nestle one another. In this post we will make the medium one. 🎅🎁🎄 You can find the small doll HERE and the medium doll HERE.
First make a small round:
Round 1: Magic ring with red color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight. (6 sts)
Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around. (12 sts)
Round 3: Mark the first stitch using a removable marker. *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st* repeat around. (18 sts). Move marker. Use markers each next round.
Round 4: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 2 sts* repeat around. (24 sts). Move marker.
Round 5: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 3 sts* repeat around. (30 sts). Break yarn and fasten off.
Round 6: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 4 sts* repeat around. (36 sts). Move marker. Break yarn and fasten off.
Bottom part.
Using the pattern at the picture above let’s make Increase rounds
Round 1: Magic ring with red color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight. (6 sts)
Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around. (12 sts)
Round 3: Mark the first stitch using a removable marker. *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st* repeat around. (18 sts). Move marker. Use markers each next round.
Round 4: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 2 sts* repeat around. (24 sts). Move marker.
Round 5: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 3 sts* repeat around. (30 sts). Move marker.
Round 6: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 4 sts* repeat around. (36 sts). Move marker.
Round 7 (working in the back loop only): Sc in each stitch around. (36 sts). Move marker.
Round 8: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 5 sts* repeat around. (42 sts). Move marker.
Round 9: Sc in each stitch around. (42 sts). Move marker.
Round 10: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 6 sts* repeat around. (48 sts)
Round 11: Sc in each stitch around. (48 sts). Move marker.
Round 12: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 7 sts* repeat around. (54 sts).
Round 13: Sc with black color in each stitch around. (54 sts). Move marker.
Round 14-15: repeat round 13.
You need to place inside of the center some weight material for stability. I used 2 coins which I wind with an adhesive plaster between two circles which are cut out from cardboard. Let’s sew to the bottom the small round we made before.
Continue to crochet our bottom part. Cut off a wire about 21 cm (8,5 inches) long, bend a circle near the 5,5 cm (2,2 inches) in diameter, wind the ends with an adhesive plaster as you can see at the picture below.
Continue to crochet our bottom part. Cut off a wire about 23 cm (8,5 inches) long, bend a circle near the 6,5 cm (2,5 inches) in diameter, wind the ends with an adhesive plaster.
Round 16: Crochet over the wire. *2 sc with red color in next st, 1 sc in next 8 sts* repeat around. (60 sts). You must remember that the twisting place must be on the back of Santa’s.
Round 17: Sc in each stitch around. (60 sts). Move marker.
Round 18-23: repeat round 17.
Round 24: *2 sc with red color in next st, 1 sc in next 9 sts* repeat around. (66 sts).
Round 25: 1 sc in next 60 sts, 1 ss in next 6 sts. Break yarn and fasten off.
With red yarn *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 5 sts* repeat around (working in the front loop of Round 7).
Head.
Round 1: Magic ring with red color, 12 sc in ring and pull tight. (12 sts)
Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around. (24 sts)
Round 3: Sc in each stitch around. (24 sts). Move marker.
Round 4: repeat round 3.
Round 5: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 2 sts* repeat around. (32 sts). Move marker.
Round 6: Sc in each stitch around. (32 sts). Move marker.
Round 7: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 3 sts* repeat around. (40 sts). Move marker.
Round 8: Sc in each stitch around. (40 sts). Move marker.
Round 9: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 4 sts* repeat around. (48 sts). Move marker
Round 10: Sc in each stitch around. (48 sts). Move marker.
Round 11: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 5 sts* repeat around. (56 sts). Move marker.
Round 12: Sc in each stitch around. (56 sts). Change the color. Move marker.
Round 13: Crochet over the wire. Sc with white color in each stitch around. (56 sts). Move marker. You must remember that the twisting place must be on the back of Santa’s.
Round 14-20: repeat round 13.
Round 21: * 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 6 sts* repeat around. (64 sts). Move marker.
Round 22: Sc in each stitch around. (64 sts). Move marker.
Round 23: repeat round 22.
Round 24: Sc with red color in each stitch around. (64 sts). Move marker.
Round 25: repeat round 24.
Round 26: 1 sc in next 58 sts, 1 ss in next 6 sts. Break yarn and fasten off.
Beard and mustache.
Round 1: Magic ring with Patons UK 100% Cotton white color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight. (6 sts)
Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around. (12 sts)
Round 3: Mark the first stitch using a removable marker. *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st* repeat around. (18 sts). Move marker.
Round 4: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st*repeat 4 times. Break yarn and fasten off.
Make three parts.
Let’s decorate our beard and mustache. I used slip stiches.
And I ended up with that:
Sew the beard and the mustache to the head. With Patons UK 100% Cotton white color make a small tassel and sew to the chain (chain 8), then sew the chain to the hat.
Then sew the eyes and the nose.
