PATTERN.

Materials:

  • Any cotton 100% Weight/Yardage 50g/137yds: Cascade Ultra Pima Fine, 100% cotton or Schachenmayr Catania, etc.
  • Size D/3 (3 mm) crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

Abbreviations (US terms):

ch – chain

st st – slip stitch

sc – single crochet

dc – double crochet

sk – skip

st(s) – stitch(es)

Skill Level: Easy

Instructions.

Head.

Round 1: Magic ring with white color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight. (6 sts)

Round 2: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (12 sts)

Round 3: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts). Move marker.

Round 4: sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts). Move marker.

Round 5: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st* repeat around. (36 sts). Move marker.

Round 6: sc in each chain stitch around. (36 sts). Move marker.

Round 7: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st* repeat around. (54 sts). Move marker.

Round 8: sc in each chain stitch around. (54 sts). Brear yarn.

 

Ears.

Round 1: Magic ring with black color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight. (6 sts)

Round 2: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (12 sts)

Round 3: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts)

Round 4: sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts)

Then sc in the next 5 sts, ss in the next st. Break yarn and fasten off.

Make 4 ears.

 

Mitten.

Round 1: Magic ring with red color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight. (6 sts)

Round 2:  2 sc in each chain stitch around. (12 sts)

Round 3: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts). Move marker.

Round 4: sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts). Move marker.

Round 5: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st* repeat around. (36 sts). Move marker.

Round 6: ss in the next st, sc in the next st, hdc in the next st, * 2 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the next 2 sts, * repeat 8 times, 2 dc in the next 2 sts, ch 3, ss in the next 2 sts.

Round 7: sc in the next st, 2 hdc in the next 2 sts, sc in the next 34 sts, sc in the last dc of the previous row (red arrow on the picture below), 3 sc in the  middle st of the 3 chains of the previous row – green arrow on the picture below), ss in the next st. Break yarn.

White part of the mitten.

Chain 13, dc in the 4th st, ch 1, ss in the same st, *ch 1, dc in the next st, ch 1, ss in the next st* repeat 4 times, ch 1, dc in the next st, ch 3, rotate your work and sc in the first st of the row , ch 1, dc in the next st , ch 1, ss in the next st,  *ch 1, dc in the next st, ch 1, ss in the next st* repeat 4 times, ch 2, skip 1 st, sc in the next st (red arrow on the picture below). Break yarn.

Decoration.

Decorate the mitten using needle and white color yarn. Make snowflakes and small snowflakes. For the small snowflakes use knots on the thread. Then sew the white part of the mitten to the red part using white color yarn.

 

Sew the ears using needle and black color yarn (skip 7 sts between ears). Then sew the mitten using needle, red and white color yarn.

So you have 2 heads with ears: one head is with decoration, other is just plain. Sew 2 heads together using needle, white and black color yarn.
