Today I want to share with you my elf. This magical creature fills your home with a fairy tale and an expectation of a miracle. Crochet elf – a magnet on a fridge, decoration on a Christmas tree, an element of decor or clothes will create a special festive – fairy atmosphere at any time of the year, in any weather and for any age in your home.

This and other Mouse ornaments are the perfect, handmade addition for you to work up and add to your Christmas decorations. Children will love them from year to year and can enjoy decorating the tree since they aren’t breakable!

You can use the ornament for making the Disney pin, magnet, hairpin or backpack clip. You can also use it for decoration of Christmas tree, tag for suitcase in Disney cruise, jewelry (using thinner yarn), bookmarks.

PATTERN.

Materials:

  • Any cotton 100% Weight/Yardage 50g/137yds: Cascade Ultra Pima Fine, 100% cotton or Schachenmayr Catania, etc.
  • Size D/3 (3 mm) crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

Abbreviations (US terms):

ch – chain

st st – slip stitch

sc – single crochet

dc – double crochet

sk – skip

st(s) – stitch(es)

Skill Level: Easy

Instructions.

Head.

Round 1: Magic ring with green color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight. (6 sts)

Round 2: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (12 sts)

Round 3: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts). Move marker.

Round 4: sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts). Move marker.

Round 5: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st* repeat around. (36 sts). Move marker.

Round 6: sc in each chain stitch around. (36 sts). Move marker.

Round 7: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st* repeat around. (54 sts). Move marker.

Round 8: sc in each chain stitch around. (54 sts). Break yarn and fasten off.

Make 2 heads.

Ears.

Round 1: Magic ring with black color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight. (6 sts)

Round 2:  2 sc in each chain stitch around. (12 sts)

Round 3: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts)

Round 4: sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts)

Then 5 sc and ss. Break yarn and fasten off.

Make 4 ears.

Decoration.

Elf collar

Row 1: Chain 14 with red color yarn, dc in the 3rd st from the hook, 1 sc, 1 dc in the next 3 sts, 1 sc, 1 dc in the next 3 sts, 1 sc, 1 dc in next 2 sts, 5 ch.

Row 2: sc in the second ch from the hook, turn and start working back: 1 sc, 1 ss,

*1 sc, 1 dc, 3 ch, wrap yarn and pull through last 2 loops of the previous 2 dc and the loop on the hook, 1 sc, 1 ss, * repeat twice. Then  1 sc, 1 dc, 3 ch,  wrap yarn and pull through last 2 loops of the previous 2 dc and the loop on the hook, break yarn and fasten off.

Belt.

Chain 23, dc in the 4th st from the hook, then dc in the each chin stitch (19 sts). Break yarn and fasten off.

Holly.

Chain 5 with green color, then make 1 dc in the 4th st from the hook, chain 2. Now turn your work and make 1 dc in the chain space which is formed by crocheting the previous row dc. Break yarn and fasten off.

Assembling

Sew the ears using needle and green color yarn. Make 2 heads.

Now let’s decorate the one head. Sew the collar  with red color and the belt with black color.

Belt buckle

Chain 17 with yellow color. Break yarn. Then sew it with the yellow yarn and needle.Then sew the bells on the collar with yellow yarn:

Sew the holly leaf with red color.

So you have 2 heads with ears: one head is with decoration, other is just plain. Sew them together using needle and green color yarn for the head and the black color for the ears.
