You know I adore Christmas that’s why I prefer start preparing to this holiday in summer. You can start with me so you will have enough time to enjoy your preparing. Today I’m sharing with you the Christmas Gnome crochet pattern!
You can use the ornament for making the Disney pin, magnet, hairpin or backpack clip. You can also use it for decoration of gift, tag for suitcase in cruise, jewelry (using thinner yarn), bookmarks.

PATTERN.
Materials:
- Any cotton 100% Weight/Yardage 50g/137yds: Cascade Ultra Pima Fine, 100% cotton or Schachenmayr Catania, etc.
- Size D/3 (3 mm) crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors

Abbreviations (US terms):
ch – chain
st st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
sk – skip
st(s) – stitch(es)
Skill Level: Easy
Instructions.
Head.
Round 1: Magic ring with red color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight. (6 sts)
Round 2: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (12 sts)
Round 3: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts). Move marker.
Round 4: sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts). Move marker.
Round 5: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st* repeat around. (36 sts). Move marker.
Round 6: sc in each chain stitch around. (36 sts). Move marker.
Round 7: *2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next st* repeat around. (54 sts). Move marker.
Round 8: sc in each chain stitch around. (54 sts).
Make 2 heads.
Ears.
Round 1: Magic ring with black color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight. (6 sts)
Round 2: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (12 sts)
Round 3: 2 sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts)
Round 4: sc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts)
Then 5 sc and ss. Break yarn and fasten off.
Make 4 ears.
Hat.
Row 1: Ch 17 with red color yarn, dc in the 4th, dc in the next 13 sts. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 3, 2 dc together, dc in the next 10 sts, dc in the last 2 sts and 1 dc in the chain of previous row together (white and yellow sign on the picture below). Turn.
Row 3: Ch 3, 2 dc together, dc in the next 8 sts, dc in the last 2 sts and 1 dc in the chain of previous row together. Turn.
Row 4: Ch 3, 2 dc together, dc in the next 6 sts, dc in the last 2 sts and 1 dc in the chain of previous row together. Turn.
Row 5: Ch 3, 2 dc together, dc in the next 4 sts, dc in the last 2 sts and 1 dc in the chain of previous row together. Turn.
Row 6: Ch 3, 2 dc together, dc in the next 2 sts, dc in the last 2 sts and 1 dc in the chain of previous row together. Turn.
Row 7: Ch 3, 2 dc together, dc in the last 2 sts and 1 dc in the chain of previous row together. Turn.
Row 8: Ch 7, ss in the 2nd st, sc in the next st, hdc in the next st, dc in the next st, 2 dc in the last st of the chain, and ss in the last st of the row. Break yarn.
Make 2 hats.
Beard.
Round 1: Magic ring with white color, chain 3, 8 dc in ring and pull tight. Turn. (9 sts)
Row 2: Ch 3, 1 dc in the next st, *2 dc in next st* repeat 7 times, 1 dc in the chain of previous row. (17 sts) Turn.
Row 3: Ch 2, hdc in the next st, dc in the next st, ch 2. Skip next st and ss in the 2nd st, sc in the body of the dc, hdc in the body of the dc, ss in the next st (purple arrow on the picture up); ch 4: ss in the 2nd st, sc in the next st, hdc in the last st of the chain, then skip 1 st and ss in the next st of our half-round (green arrow below); *ch 5: ss in the 2nd st, sc in the next st, hdc in the next st, dc in the last st of the chain, skip 2 sts and ss in the next st of the half-round* repeat twice. ch 4: ss in the 2nd st, sc in the next st, hdc in the last st of the chain, skip 1 st and ss in the next st of the half-round. Sc in the next st, hdc in the next st, ch 2, skip next st and ss in the 2nd st, sc in the body of the hdc, hdc in the body of the hdc, sc in the last st of the half-round.
Break yarn and fasten off.
Star
Magic ring with white color yarn, ch 4, ss in the 2nd st, sc in the 3rd st, sc in the ring, *ch 3, ss in the 2nd st, sc in the 3rd st, sc in the ring * repeat 4 times.
Pull tight and break yarn.
Nose.
Magic ring with beige color yarn, ch 2, dc, hdc, sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc, ss in the 1st st. Break yarn and fasten off.
Assembling
Sew the ears to the head with black color yarn. Sew the beard with white color yarn and the hat with red color yarn.
Sew the nose with beige color yarn and star with white color yarn.
So you have 2 heads with ears: one head is with decoration, other is just plain. Sew 2 heads together using needle, red and black color yarn.
