And this bag became a soft and comfortable teddy bear, which is quite ready not only for autumn rains, but also for winter frosts and the first snow! PATTERN.

Materials:

Yarn:  Any cotton 100% Weight/Yardage 100g/105 yds: JubileeYarn Medium Gauge Worsted Weight Yarn – Dainty Light or other with the same highlights: 1 skein of brown color, 1 of yellow color, 1 of grey color.

Any cotton 100% Weight/Yardage 50g/137yds: Cascade Ultra Pima Fine, 100% cotton or Schachenmayr Catania, etc.: small amount of black color for eyes and red color yarn for hat (I double strand yarn for the hat) and scarf fringe.

You can use Cascade Ultra Pima Fine, 100% cotton or Schachenmayr Catania for the making all the bag, but you need to double strand the yarn for it.

Notions: Scissors, needle with large eye, magnetic closure.

Crochet hook: 7 (4,5 mm)

ch – chain

st st – slip stitch

sc – single crochet

dc – double crochet

Instructions.

Body.

Increase rounds.

Round 1: Magic ring with brown color yarn, ch 2, 11 dc in ring, join with ss in ch2. (12 sts)

Round 2: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 2 dc in each chain stitch around, join with ss in ch 2. (24 sts)

Round 3: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in next st, *2 dc in next st, dc in next st* repeat around, join with ss. (36 sts)

Round 4: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in next 2 sts , *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next 2 sts* repeat around, join with ss. (48 sts)

Round 5: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in next 3 sts , *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next 3 sts* repeat around, join with ss. (60 sts)

Round 6: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in next 4 sts , *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next 4 sts* repeat around, join with ss. (72 sts)

Round 7: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in next 5 sts , *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next 5 sts* repeat around, join with ss. (84 sts) Turn.

Row 8: Ch 2, 1 dc in the next 8 sts, 2 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the next 8 sts. Turn.

Row 9: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in the next 16 sts, 2 dc in the last st. Turn.

Row 10: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in the next 8 sts, 2 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the next 8 sts, 2 dc in the last st. Turn.

Row 11: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in the next 9 sts, 2 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the next 9 sts, 2 dc in the last st. Turn.

Row 12: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in the next 21 sts, 2 dc in the last st. Turn.

Row 13: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in the next 22 sts, 2 dc in the last st. Turn.

Row 14: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in the next 11 sts, 2 dc in the next st, 1 dc in the next 11 sts, 2 dc in the last st. Turn.

Row 15: Ch 1, 1 sc in the next st, 1 dc in the next 25 sts, 1 sc in the last st. Break yarn.

Make another side .

Increase rounds.

Round 1: Magic ring with yellow color yarn, ch 2, 11 dc in ring, join with ss in ch2. (12 sts)

Round 2: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 2 dc in each chain stitch around, join with ss in ch 2. (24 sts)

Round 3: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in next st, *2 dc in next st, dc in next st* repeat around, join with ss. (36 sts)

Round 4: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in next 2 sts , *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next 2 sts* repeat around, join with ss. (48 sts)

Round 5: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in next 3 sts , *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next 3 sts* repeat around, join with ss. (60 sts)

Round 6: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in next 4 sts , *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next 4 sts* repeat around, join with ss. (72 sts). Change the color.

Round 7: Ch 2 with brown color yarn, 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in next 5 sts , *2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next 5 sts* repeat 8 times. Break yarn.

Now join your two bag parts wrong sides together. Try to line up them up so they match. You are going to sc around the outside of them to attach them and you want to them to be perfectly lined up. Now stick your hook through both sides and pull the yarn through (like pictured below) and sc with the brown color.

But when you reach the top flap, let’s sc the top flap around, sc each stitch and make 2 sc at the edges:

Break yarn and fasten off.

Ears.

Open the top flap. Skip 2 sts from the end of the joined part and start working in the 3rd st. With yellow color yarn sc in the 3rd st from the end.

Then close the top flap and 8 tr in the 1 st on the top flap. Skip 3 sts and sc in the 4th st. Break yarn. Turn your work. With brown color yarn sc in the same st that you finished work with yellow yarn, 2 sc in the next 8 sts, sc in the last st ( the 1st you make with yellow color yarn).

2nd ear.

Skip 4 sts from the left end of the top flap and sc with yellow color yarn , 8 tr in the last st on the top flap. Then open the top flap,  skip 2 sts from the end of the joined part and sc in the 3rd st. Break yarn. Turn your work. With brown color yarn sc in the same st that you finished work with yellow yarn, 2 sc in the next 8 sts, sc in the last st ( the 1st you make with yellow color yarn). Sew the magnetic closure.

Face and nose.

Row 1: with yellow color yarn ch 8, then 5 dc in the 4th st from the hook, dc in the next 3 sts, 6 dc in the next st, dc in the next 3 sts, ss in the 3rd ch.

Row 2: sc in the next st, 2 sc in the next 4 sts, sc in the next 5 sts, 2 sc in the next 4 sts, sc in the next 4 sts, ss in the 1st sc. Break yarn.

Nose

For the nose I used the finer yarn of black color(read in the yarn description above).

Row 1: with black color yarn ch 7, then 5 dc in the 4th st from the hook, dc in the next 2 sts, 6 dc in the next st, dc in the next 2 sts, ss in the 3rd ch. Break yarn.

Sew the nose as you can see at the picture below with black color yarn. Then embroider  the eyes with black color yarn.

Paws.

Skip 18 sts from the end of the ear and sc in the 19 st with grey color yarn. Skip 2 sts and 8 tr in the 3rd st, skip 2 sts and sc in the 3rd st. The first paw is ready. Break yarn.

Then skip 7 sts, sc in the 8th st, skip 2 sts and 8 tr in the 3rd st, skip 2 sts and sc in the 3rd st. The second paw is ready. Break yarn.

Now let’s make the second pair of paws.

Skip 2 sts and sc with brown color yarn in the next st, sc in the next st, hdc in the next st, dc in the next st, tr in the next st. Break yarn. With grey color yarn sc in the 1st sc of the brown part, skip next st, 5 tr in the next st and sc in the last st. We made the right paw.

Then turn your bag and work on the reverse side of the bag to make the left paw.

Skip 2 sts and sc with brown color yarn in the next st, sc in the next st, hdc in the next st, dc in the next st, tr in the next st. Break yarn. With grey color yarn sc in the 1st sc of the brown part, skip next st, 5 tr in the next st and sc in the last st.

All your paws are ready!

Scarf.

Row 1:  Ch. 35 with grey color yarn, dc in the 4th st from the hook, dc in the next 30 sts. Turn.

Row 2:  Ch 3, dc in the next 31 sts. Turn.

Row 3:  Ch 3, dc in the next 31 sts. Break yarn.

For the ends of the scarf.

Row 1:  Ch. 11, dc in the 4th st from the hook, dc in the next 6 sts. Turn.

Row 2:  Ch 3, dc in the next 7 sts. Turn.

Row 3:  Ch 3, dc in the next 7 sts. Break yarn.

Make 2 parts.

Sew the scarf and the ends as you can see at the picture below. Break yarn and fasten off. With red color yarn make the scarf fringe.

Hat.

Double strand the yarn and then start working.

With red color yarn ch 14, sc in the 2nd st from the hook, sc in the next st, hdc in the 2 next sts, dc in the next 4 sts, hdc in the next 2 sts, sc in the next st, ss in the last st.

Make a pompom with grey yarn and sew on the top of the hat.

Sew the hat to the head with red color yarn.

Straps.

Look at the ear. Skip 7 sts and start working at the 8th st.  Sc in the back loop of the 8th st with grey color yarn, sc in the back loops of the next 6 sts. Then work hdc in each st of the row and turn your work. Work till you have the enough length for you. I finished with 84 rows and 96 cm (38 inches)

Sew the end of the straps with grey color yarn to the 2nd ear symmetrically to 1 ear (sew to the back loops of stitches only!!!).
