  • Any cotton 100% Weight/Yardage 50g/137yds: Cascade Ultra Pima Fine, 100% cotton or Schachenmayr Catania, etc.
  • Size D/3 (3 mm) crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

Abbreviations (US terms):

ch – chain

st st – slip stitch

sc – single crochet

dc – double crochet

Instructions.

Square #1.

Increase rounds.

Round 1: Magic ring with grey color yarn, ch 2, 11 dc in ring, join with ss in ch2. (12 sts)

Round 2: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 2 dc in each chain stitch around, join with ss in ch 2. (24 sts)

Round 3: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 2 dc in each chain stitch around, join with ss in ch 2.  (48 sts)

Round 4: Ch 1, sc each next stitch.

Round 5: changing the color.

Now we have to add the blue color. Take out the crochet hook from the loop and place this  loop behind the circle.  Re-insert the hook into the next stitch and insert the hook into the loop that you placed behind the circle. Grab the blue yarn and pull it through. Chain 1. 

Sc in the next 3 sts, 2 dc in the next st, 2 tr in the next st, ch 1, 2 tr in the next st, 2 dc in the next st, *sc in the next 8 sts, 2 dc in the next st, 2 tr in the next st, ch 1, 2 tr in the next st, 2 dc in the next st, * repeat 3 times, sc in the next 4 sts, ss in the 1st st of the round. 

Round 6: ch 3, dc in the next 7 sts, 2 tr, ch 1 and 2 tr in the same next st, * dc in the next 15 sts, 2 tr, ch 1 and 2 tr in the same next st * repeat 3 times, dc in the next 7 sts, change the color as you read above.

Round 7: ch 3 with grey color yarn, dc in the next 9 sts, 2 tr, ch 2 and 2 tr in the same next st,

* dc in the next 18 sts, 2 tr, ch 2 and 2 tr in the same next st * repeat 3 times, dc in the next 8 sts, ss in the 1st 2 chains of the round. Break yarn and fasten off.

Make 28 squares.

Square #2.

Increase rounds.

Round 1: Magic ring with blue color yarn, ch 2, 11 dc in ring, join with ss in ch2. (12 sts)

Round 2: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 2 dc in each chain stitch around, join with ss in ch 2. (24 sts)

 Round 3: Ch 2, 1 dc in the same st, 2 dc in each chain stitch around, join with ss in ch 2.  (48 sts)

Round 4: Ch 1, sc each next stitch.

Round 5: changing the color.

Now we have to add the grey color. Change the color as you read above and crochet with pink color yarn.

 Round 6: ch 3, dc in the next 7 sts, 2 tr, ch 1 and 2 tr in the same next st, * dc in the next 15 sts, 2 tr, ch 1 and 2 tr in the same next st * repeat 3 times, dc in the next 7 sts, change the color as you read above.

 Round 7: ch 3 with grey color yarn, dc in the next 9 sts, 2 tr, ch 2 and 2 tr in the same next st, * dc in the next 18 sts, 2 tr, ch 2 and 2 tr in the same next st * repeat 3 times, dc in the next 8 sts, ss in the 1st 2 chains of the round. Break yarn and fasten off.

Make 28 squares.

Ears.

Round 1: Magic ring with grey color, 12 dc in ring and pull tight. (12 sts)

Round 2:  ch 2, hdc in the same st, 2 hdc in each chain stitch around. (24 sts). Break yarn and fasten off.

Make 56 ears.

Pink part of the ears.

Row 1: Magic ring with pink color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight, turn.

Row 2: 2 sc in next 5 sts. Turn. (10 sts)

Row 2: 2 sc each st. (20 sts). Break yarn and fasten off.

 Make 2 parts.

Nose.

Round 1: Magic ring with blue color, 10 sc in ring and pull tight. Break yarn.

Eye.

Light blue part.

Round 1: Magic ring with light blue color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight. (6 sts)

Round 2:  2 sc in each chain stitch around. (12 sts)

Round 2:  sc and dc in the next st, dc and sc in the next st, 2 sc in the next st, sc and dc in the next st, dc and ss in the next st. Break yarn and fasten off. Make 2 parts.

Black part.

Round 1: Magic ring with black color, 6 sc in ring and pull tight, 1 sc in the next st, break yarn. Make 2 parts. Sew glares on the eyes with white color yarn. Sew black parts of the eyes on the light blue parts. 

Assembling

Sew pink parts of the ears on the grey ears. Sew the ears using needle and grey color yarn as you can see at the picture below (leave 8 sc between the ears).

Fix the ends of the grey ears with grey yarn and needle.

Then sew the eyes and the nose with light blue and blue color yarn.

So we have 28 squares with ears and 28 without. In the next post we will join them.
