I want to show you today how to crochet the Easy Shell Stitch. It looks awesome from both sides.

PATTERN.
Materials I used 2 Fine or Sport weight yarn and an B crochet hook. You can use any yarn you like and matching hook.
Abbreviations
US Crochet terms
sc – single crochet
ch – chain
st – stitch
dc – double crochet
Start with chain multiples of 8 stitches + 1.

Instructions (in US crochet terms)
Row 1: Skip the first stitch and make 1 single crochet into the 2nd stitch from the hook. *Skip 3 sts and do 9 double crochet in the next st, skip 3 sts and single crochet in the next stitch * repeat till the end of the row. Turn your work.
Row 2: Ch 3, double crochet in the next stitch, *chain 2, skip 4 stitches and single crochet in the next st, chain 2,
skip 4 stitches and double crochet in the next stitch (single crochet of the previous row), chain 1, double crochet in the same stitch* repeat till the end of the row. But when you make the last 2 double crochet stitches of the row don’t chain 1 between them. Turn your work.
Row 3: Ch 3, 4 double crochet in the next st, skip 3 stitches and single crochet in the next st (single crochet of the previous row),
*skip 3 stitches and 9 double crochet in the next st, skip 3 sts and single crochet in the next st (sc of the previous row)* repeat till the end of the row*. Skip 3 sts, 5 double crochet in the last st. Turn your work.
Row 4: Ch 1, single crochet in the next st, *chain 2, skip 4 stitches and double crochet in the next stitch, chain 1, double crochet in the same stitch, chain 2, skip 4 sts and single crochet in the next st* repeat till the end of the row. Turn your work.
Row 5: Chain 1, single crochet in the next st, *skip 3 sts and 9 dc in the next chain space between 2 double crochet of the previous row, skip 3 sts and sc in the next st (sc of the previous row) * repeat till the end of the row. Turn your work.
Repeat Row 2-5 for pattern.
