PATTERN.

Materials:

  • Any cotton 100% Weight/Yardage 50g/137yds: Cascade Ultra Pima Fine, 100% cotton or Schachenmayr Catania, etc.
  • Size D/3 (3 mm) and (L\11) 8mm crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

Abbreviations (US terms):

ch – chain

st st – slip stitch

sc – single crochet

dc – double crochet

sk – skip

st(s) – stitch(es)

Instructions.

Round 1: Magic ring with violet color yarn, ch 3(counts as 1st dc), 11 dc in ring, join with ss in ch 3. (12 sts)

Round 2: Ch 3(counts as 1st dc), 1 dc in the same st, 2 dc in each chain stitch around, join with ss in ch 3. (24 sts)

Round 3: Ch (counts as 1st dc), 1 dc in the same st, 1 dc in next st, *2 dc in next st, dc in next st* repeat around, join with ss. (36 sts)

On the last dc of the round, stop before your last yarn over, cut yarn, and yarn over with lilac color.  Join with ss in ch 3.

Round 4: ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), dc in that same stitch, ch 1, 2 dc in next stitch, hdc in each of the next 2 stitches, sc in each of the next 3 stitches,

hdc in each of the next 2 sts, *2 dc in next st, ch 1, 2 dc in next st, hdc in each of the next 2 sts, sc in each of the next 3 sts, hdc in each of the next 2 sts; repeat from * 2 times. Join with ss in ch 3, and ss to the next corner ch 1 space.

Round 5: ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), dc, ch 1, 2 dc in corner space, dc in each stitch until you reach the next corner.  See below arrow pointing to where you will put your first dc after making your corner (you may have to move your corner stitches over a little bit so you can see this stitch).

Not counting the corner stitches, you should have crocheted 11 sts along your straight edge side; 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in the corner space.  Repeat this process until you reach the end. Join with ss in ch 3, and ss to the next corner ch 1 space.

Round 6: Ch 4 (counts as 1st tr), tr, ch 1, 2 tr, dc in each stitch until you reach the next corner (not counting your corner sts, you should have just crocheted 15 sts along your straight edge), 2 tr, ch 1, 2 tr in corner space; repeat this process until you reach the end of the round.

Join with ss in ch 4, and ss to the next corner ch 1 space.

Round 6: Ch 4 (counts as 1st tr), tr, ch 1, 2 tr, dc in each stitch until you reach the next corner, 2 tr, ch 1, 2 tr in corner space; repeat this process until you reach the end of the round.

Change the color.  Join with ss in ch 4 with yellow color yarn, and ss to the next corner ch 1 space.

Round 7: Ch 4 (counts as 1st tr), tr, ch 1, 2 tr, dc in each stitch until you reach the next corner, 2 tr, ch 1, 2 tr in corner space; repeat this process until you reach the end of the round. Break yarn and fasten off.

Dress

Round 1: Magic ring with lilac color, chain 3, 8 dc in ring and pull tight. Turn. (9 sts)

Row 2:  Ch 3, 1 dc in the same st, *2 dc in next st* repeat 7 times (16 sts) Turn.

Round 3:  Ch 3, 1 dc in the same st, *1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st * repeat 7 times, (23 sts).

Turn and sc all the dress around.

Braid.

Fold the yellow color yarn 4 times and measure 120 cm (48 inches). With hook (L\11) 8mm make a chain.

Assembling.

Embroider strings on dress with yellow color yarn. And sew with lilac color yarn 3 strips on the one ear.

Sew the ears with violet color yarn. Then sew the dress with lilac color yarn.

Fold the braid on the ear in a circle and sew, and then sew under the dress as you can see at the picture below:
