My kids absolutely in love with Shark song. So I need to make the Sharks Family for them.

I will use them for decoration of my daughter’s room. And maybe not only for that purpose…

Yarn:  Any cotton 100% Weight/Yardage 50g/137yds: Cascade Ultra Pima Fine, 100% cotton or Schachenmayr Catania, etc.: 1 skein of yellow color, 1 skein of pink color, 1 skein of green color, 1 skein of blue color, 1 skein of orange color, 1 skein of white color, small amount of red and black color yarn.

Notions: Scissors, needle with large eye (I use for sewing and embroidery the same yarn that for the crochet).

Crochet hook: 0 (2 mm)

Crochet abbreviations: ch = chain, sc = single crochet, ss = slip stitch, st(s) = chain stitch(s), dc = double crochet, hdc = half double crochet, MR= Magic ring.

Instructions.

Body.

Round 1: Magic ring with red color yarn, ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join with ss in ch 3. (12 sts)

Round 2: Ch 3, 1 dc in the same st, 2 dc in each chain stitch around, join with ss in ch 3. (24 sts) Change the color.

Round 3: Ch 3 with white color yarn, 1 dc in the same st, 2 dc in next 22 sts, join with ss in ch 3. (46 sts). Break yarn. Skip 16 sts and start crocheting tail.

Tail.

Row 1: Ch 3, dc in the next 8 sts, 2 dc together. Turn.

Row 2: Sc in the 1st st, ch 2, dc in the next 6 sts, 2 dc together. Turn.

Row 3: Sc in the 1st st, ch 2, dc in the next 4 sts, 2 dc together. Turn.

Row 4: Ch 4, 1 sc in the 2nd st, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 5 dc in the next st, skip 3 sts

and ss in the last 4th st. Break yarn.

Shark Fin.

With yellow (pink, orange, green or blue) color yarn:

Row 1: Find the place where you started working on the tail, skip 2 sts and sc in the 3rd st,

sc in the next 4 sts. Turn.

Row 2: sc in the next 4 sts, ch 5, sc in in 2nd st from the hook, hdc in the next st, dc in the next 2 sts.

Skip 3 sts and ss in the last 4th st, 1 sc in the next st, 2 sc in the next 2 sts, sc in the next 3 sts, ss in the next 4 sts. Break yarn.

Turn your work and start working on the end of the tail : 1 sc in the next 4 sts, skip next st  and sc in the next st.

Sc in the next 4 sts, 2 sc in the next st, sc in the next 3 sts. Turn. Making the 2nd Shark Fin. Sc in the next 4 sts, ch 5, sc in the 2nd st, hdc in the next st, dc in the next 2 sts, skip next 3 sts ans ss in the last 4th st. Break yarn.

End of the tail.

Ch 8 with yellow (pink, orange, green or blue) color yarn, ss in the 2nd st from the hook, hdc in the next st, 3 dc in the next 2 sts, hdc in the next st, sc in the next st, ss in the next st. Break yarn.

 Face.

Row 1: Magic ring, ch 3, 7 dc in the ring. Turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, 1 dc in the same st, 2 dc in the next 6 sts. Turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, 1 dc in the same st, *1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st * repeat 6 times,

1 dc in the 2nd ch of the previous row.

Row 4: Ch 2, hdc in the next st, sc in the next 2 sts, hdc in the next 2 sts, dc, 2 dc in the st, dc in the Magic ring , 1 dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st, hdc in the next 2 sts, sc in the next 2 sts, ch 1, hdc in the last st. Break yarn.

Skip 8 sts from the place indicated by the red arrow at the picture below and ch 3 in the 9th st, 2 dc together. Break yarn.

 Eyes.

Magic ring with black color yarn, 4 sc in the ring, join with ss, pull tight, change the color. With white color yarn 2 sc in the back loops only of the next 2 sts, 1 sc and 1 ss in the back loop only of the next st. Break yarn. Embroider glare in the eyes.

Assembling.

Sew the eyes with white and black color yarn to the face. After that sew the upper part of the face so you can see where you should embroider the teeth, embroider them and sew the bottom part of the face. Sew the end of the tail with yellow (pink, orange, green or blue) color yarn.

 Grandpa.

When you make the grandpa after sewing the eyes embroider the eyebrows with white color yarn.

After that embroider the mustache with white color yarn.

Grandma.

When you make the grandma after sewing the eyes embroider the glasses with white color yarn.
